Cabinet Resigns after New Nomination

President Saakashvili nominated Environment Minister Giorgi Papuashvili as new member of the Constitutional Court, which automatically led to resignation of entire cabinet, as this replacement is the sixth one since the cabinet was approved in February, 2005. 

According to the law the entire cabinet should resign if one-third of its members change.

President Saakashvili instructed PM Zurab Nogaideli to nominate new cabinet, Giorgi Arveladze, Chief of the President?s Administration, said at a news conference on July 21.

Arveladze declined to comment whether there will be other changes in the cabinet apart of the Environment Minister. He said it is up the Prime Minister Nogaideli to decide.
