Ivanov Comments on Peacekeepers in S.Ossetia

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov said on July 13 that despite provocations, Russia ?will not let anyone offend its peacekeepers? in the South Ossetian conflict zone, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
 
?Provocations are taking place constantly there [in the South Ossetian conflict zone] and I have no doubts that they will further continue,? Ivanov said at a news briefing in Moscow.

?At the same time it should not be forgotten that 90% of residents of South Ossetia are Russian citizens,? he added.

Joint Peacekeeping Forces (JPKF) in the South Ossetian conflict zone is made of Georgian, Ossetian and Russian battalions. Russian Maj. Gen. Marat Kulakhmetov is the commander of the JPKF.
