JCC to Meet in Tskhinvali
Negotiators from the Georgian, South Ossetian, Russia and Russia?s North Ossetian sides, which make up Joint Control Commission (JCC), will meet in Tskhinvali on June 22, according to the office of the Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues.
The Georgian media sources reported that a meeting between Georgian Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili and breakaway South Ossetian Interior Minister Mikhail Mindzaev will also be held in Tskhinvali on June 22.
Georgian Deputy State Minister for the Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Volsky and officials from the Interior Ministry visited Tskhinvali on June 21 to arrange this meeting.
Although the sides agreed to hold this meeting, it is up to the Minister Merabishvili now to decide whether to participate in talks or not, according to the office of the Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues. The Georgian Interior Ministry officials were unavailable for the comment on this issue.
