MP Claims Escaped Life Attempt
MP Koba Davitashvili, leader of the opposition Conservative Party, said on June 8 that unknown ?young person? was planning an attempt on his life and added that he will most likely demanded from the authorities to employ security guard for him.
Speaking at a news conference MP Davitashvili said that his neighbors where he lives noticed unknown person in the yard who has spent two days at the exist of the apartment building where MP Davitashvili lives.
?Yesterday, when my neighbors approached to him to have a chat to find out who he was, the person run away but he stumbled down, then stood up and fired twice from a gun which apparently had a silencer,? MP Koba Davitashvili said.
He said that the unknown person left on the scene a little bag, where his neighbors found Davitashvili?s photo and three mobile phone SIM cards ? ?one was Russian SIM card.?
MP Davitashvili said that he will hand over all the materials to the General Prosecutor?s Office to launch investigation into the case.
?I do not know this person; I do not know whether he is killer or not, or whether he acts under someone?s orders, or whether Russia is interested in this, or our political opponents. I do not want to believe that authorities are involved in this,? MP Davitashvili said.
