Burjanadze Apologizes for Okruashvili’s Statement on Russia
In an interview with Russian daily Vremya Novostey, which was published on May 4 Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze apologized to Russian citizens for the statements made by Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili, who said that “even if you export feces to Russia it can be sold there.”
“I want to apologize for these words of Defense Minister Okruashvili. Even if you are offended by the policy pursued by Russia towards Georgia, you should not use such words. Our Minister expressed his opinions a bit emotionally, incorrectly and he should not have done it,” Burjanadze said.
