Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan Discuss Railway Construction
The Georgian, Azerbaijani and Turkish sides are holding talks in Ankara, Turkey to discuss the construction of a railway link between the eastern Turkish city of Kars and the southern Georgian town of Akhalkalaki, the Georgian Railway Company reported on May 4.
According to the preliminary calculations, construction of a 160-km long railway, which will also enable Azerbaijan to gain access to its strategic partner, Turkey, via Georgia, will cost about USD 400 million.
