Tbilisi Offers Tskhinvali School Assistance Program
The Georgian side has called on the breakaway South Ossetian authorities to cooperate in rehabilitating schools in the conflict zone and providing them with technical equipment.
The press office of the Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues reported on April 29 that the Georgian side has developed a program envisaging the delivery of up to 35 computers to schools in the conflict zone, as well as the reconstruction of schools.
Tbilisi has also offered Tskhinvali to allow pupils from schools in the conflict zone to participate in international educational programs.
Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava also called on Tskhinvali to discuss Tbilisi?s proposed draft law on property restitution for the victims of the South Ossetian conflict.
Boris Chochiev, deputy chairman of the breakaway region?s government, has already dismissed Tbilisi?s draft law on restitution as just another ?PR campaign? by the Georgian authorities, which will fail to provide relief for refugees and internally displaced persons.
