Georgian Army Marks Anniversary at New Base
Official ceremonies marking the Georgian army?s 15th anniversary will be held in the newly constructed military base in Senaki, in western Georgia, on April 30.
Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili said on April 30 that over GEL 17 million (USD 9.3 million) was spent on the construction of the NATO-standard military base in Senaki from the defense budget. Additional GEL 9 million was spent from the Army Development Fund for construction.
