Saakashvili Vows to ‘Save Wine Industry’
President Mikheil Saakashvili has said that the authorities should spare no efforts “to save the wine industry” in Georgia after Russia has “forced Georgian wine out” of its market.
Georgian television stations reported Saakashvili’s remarks on April 15 before his departure from China, where he paid a six-day official visit.
“We should gain access to different markets… It will take time, it will require patience; we will have to work hard. This will not happen immediately, but I am sure that we will save and strengthen our wine producing sector… We will also manage to return to the Russian market,” President Saakashvili said.
