Georgian President’s Aide to Meet Abkhaz Leader

The Georgian President’s aide for Abkhaz issues Irakli Alasania will meet with Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh and Foreign Minister of the breakaway region Sergey Shamba on March 29 in Sokhumi, the Abkhaz news agency Apsnypress reported.

“Alasania’s visit aims at establishing contacts and defining ways of conflict resolution,” Apsnypress quoted Sergey Shamba as saying.

Shamba also said that the Abkhaz side is familiar with Alasania’s opinions. “There are a great deal of promising factors which make us assume that we will manage to settle difficult problems and advance the peace process, if these opinions are supported by the Georgian leadership,” Shamba said.
