Georgian, Russian Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Talks
Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili discussed bilateral relations during a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on March 28.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the two Ministers also discussed the issues of conflict resolution and stressed “the importance of enhancing the effectiveness of the existing negotiation mechanisms.”
The two Ministers also discussed issues relating to bilateral trade and customs. The two sides expressed readiness to hold consultations over the problematic issues persisting in this field between the two countries, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said, without specifying these problems. It is most likely, however, that these problems are related with Russia’s WTO accession talks.
