Sabotage Blamed for Power Line Damage

High-voltage power line Kavkasioni was damaged by a bullet shot in the village of Sakeni in Kodori gorge, which is the only part of breakaway Abkhazia under the Georgian authorities’ control, the Georgian Energy Ministry reported on March 27.

The Ministry has already described the incident as sabotage. Energy Minister Nika Gilauri plans to make a statement on the issue later on Monday.

The Kavkasioni power line was transmitting about 80-90 megawatt of electricity imported from Russia.
