Chief of Tbilisi-based Abkhaz Government Elected

Malkhaz Akishbaia was elected by exiled lawmakers from Abkhazia as new Chairman of the Tbilisi-based Abkhaz Government-in-exile on March 21, replacing Irakli Alasania.

The latter was appointed as the President’s aide for Abkhaz issues on March 20.

Malkhaz Akishbaia served as the Finance Minister of the Abkhaz government-in-exile.
