U.S. Wants Kazakhstan to Join BTC

Visiting US Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman said in Astana after talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on March 14 that the United States is interested in Kazakhstan’s participation in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline project, Kazinform and RIA Novosti news agencies reported.

Secretary Samuel Bodman said that the issue was discussed during the talks with the Kazakh leader. He noted that the U.S. is willing to see Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan agreement on transportation of Kazakh energy resources through BTC pipeline.
