Rice, Lavrov Discuss Conflicts

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed Abkhaz and South Ossetian conflict issues during talks in Washington on March 7.

“We’ve had an opportunity to talk about what we sometimes refer to as frozen conflicts like Nagorno-Karabakh, the issues concerning South Ossetia and Abkhazia,” Condoleezza Rice said at a joint news conference with Lavrov after the talks. No other comments were made about the issue during the news conference.
