Abkhaz Leader, UN Envoy Discuss Criminality in Gali District

UN Secretary General?s Special Representative to Georgia Heidi Tagliavini and Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh discussed the criminal situation in the predominantly Georgian-populated Gali district of Abkhazia on January 18, news agency Apsnypress reported.

Heidi Tagliavini offered the Abkhaz authorities to hold a meeting with the participation of the Georgian and Abkhaz sides to discuss security issues in the Gali district.

A series of violent attacks, burglary and kidnapping cases took place in the Gali district of breakaway Abkhazia recently.
