Economy Minister: Gas Price Hike to Hit Economic Growth

Georgia?s economic growth is expected to slow down by 1,1% in 2006 as a result of Russia?s increase of gas price from previous USD 63 to USD 110 per 1000 cubic meters, Economy Minister Irakli Chogovadze said at a news conference on Monday.

President Saakashvili said in December that Russia?s decision to increase gas price is political, which will hit the country?s economy.
