PM Downplays Russia’s Ban on Georgian Agricultural Products
Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said on December 20 that Georgia has not yet faces restriction of export of its agricultural products to Russia.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture said on December 19 that it has imposed temporary restrictions on import of agricultural products from Georgia, citing “phytosanitary concerns” and violation of “international and Russian sanitary requirements” by Georgia.
“[Agricultural products] are currently exported to Russia. If any problem emarges will try to tackle them both in bilateral and multilateral frames,” Nogaideli said while addressing parliamentarians on Tuesday.
