MPs, Sakrebulo Members Fist-Fight in City Hall

A session of the Tbilisi City Council ? Sakrebulo – turned into a fist-fight between the Sakrebulo members and some parliamentarians from the opposition and ruling National Movement parties on December 2.

The Sakrebulo was discussing the 2006 draft budget of the capital city. A fist-fight errupted after a member of Sakrebulo from the Labor opposition party – Soso Shatberashvili – slammed the budget and the authorities.

The session was also attended by Zviad Dzidziguri, Koba Davitashvili, Davit Berdzenishvili, Kakha Kukava – parliamentarians from the opposition Democratic Front – as well as by Davit Kirkitadze and Bidzina Bregadze – parliamentarians from the ruling party.  Later, these parliamentarians also engaged in a fist-fight. Dozen of supporters of the ruling party, who managed to enter the City Hall, where the Sakrebulo chamber is located, also participated in the fist-fight.
