South Ossetia Plans to Reshuffle Cabinet

Defense and Interior Ministers of breakaway South Ossetia Anatoly Barankevich and Mikhail Mindzaev, as well as chief of the security service Anatoly Yarovoi will retain their positions despite staff changes planned in the breakaway region’s government, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported on November 29. 

South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity said at a governmental session on November 29 that the decision regarding other members of the government will depend on the results of a public opinion poll, according to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee.    

As a result of recent structural changes in the South Ossetian government, two new Ministries – for Road Construction and for Ecology and Natural Resources – have been set up.
