Georgian Official Visits U.S. to Negotiate Abkhaz Conflict Settlement

The Georgian President?s Representative for Abkhaz conflict issues Irakli Alasania, who also chairs the Tbilisi-based Abkhaz government-in-exile, is paying a working visit to the United States to discuss the Abkhaz conflict settlement there, the Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava said on October 28.
 
?We have particular plans and proposals [over conflict resolution] … After the [Georgian-Abkhaz] talks in [the Russian town of] Sochi [on October 7-8] Georgian-Abkhaz relations have become more intensive… the prospects are rather hopeful,? Khaindrava said at a news conference.
