Burjanadze Comments on Setting up of New Opposition Faction
Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze hailed on October 24 the setting up of a new opposition parliamentary faction ? Democratic Front and expressed a readiness for ?constructive cooperation with the faction.?
?We expect that they [Democratic Front] will manage to establish a really constructive cooperation with us. But, constructiveness means very adequate reactions on those problems, which naturally will arise during the working process,? Nino Burjanadze said.
A new 17-member opposition parliamentary faction ? the Democratic Front – unites 8 parliamentarians from the Conservative Party and 6 lawmakers from the Republican Party, three non-partisan MPs ? Davit Zurabishvili, Gia Tortladze who hav both recently quit the parliamentary majority – as well as former member of the New Rights opposition party Levan Gachechiladze.
