Consultations Underway over Calls for Zourabichvili’s Dismissal

After meeting with Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze, Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli held talks with Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili on October 19 to discuss the leading parliamentarians’ calls for the latter’s dismissal.

“I do not make decisions, it is up to the President and the Prime Minister [to decide the dismissal issue]. The Prime Minister will meet with the President after which one of them will make a statement about the decision,” Salome Zourabichvili told reporters after meeting with PM Nogaideli.

President Saakashvili reportedly also plans to meet with senior parliamentarians from the ruling National Movement party on October 19 to discuss the issue.
