Moscow Boycotts Russian-Georgian Economic Commission
Moscow has refused to hold a session of the Russian-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, following the Georgian Parliament?s strong-worded resolution on Russian peacekeeping forces.
The joint Georgian-Russian governmental session to discuss economic cooperation was scheduled for October 17-18.
“Because of the new situation surrounding the Russian-Georgian relations, which emerged after the adoption of a resolution by the Georgian Parliament on peacekeeping operations, Russia has decided to postpone the intergovernmental commission meeting,” Interfax news agency quoted spokesman of the Russian Embassy in Tbilisi Evgeny Ivanov.
