Georgian Security Chief, State Minister Visit Moscow
Secretary of the Georgian National Security Council Gela Bezhuashvili, accompanied by State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava, left for Moscow on September 28 to discuss the recent developments in the South Ossetian conflict zone with Russian officials.
?We will find out Russia?s position [over South Ossetia]. Authorities in South Ossetia never make decisions independently and it seems that their recent decision to pull out from talks was also instructed [from Moscow],? Giorgi Khaindrava told reporters before departure.
The South Ossetian side announced after a mortar attack on Tskhinvali on September 20, which injured ten civilians, that they will not participate in any session of the Joint Control Commission until the Georgian side officially apologizes for the incident.
Georgian security chief and State Minister will reportedly hold meetings with Secretary of Russian Security Council Igor Ivanov and Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin in Moscow.
