OSCE Holds Human Rights Training for Law Enforcers
Twenty law enforcement officials in Samtskhe-Javakheti started a three-day OSCE course on international standards for human rights protection, including the rights of ethnic minorities, the OSCE Mission to Georgia reported on September 12.
The training course aims at improving the capacity of judges, prosecutors, lawyers and police officers in the region, which is mainly populated by ethnic Armenians.
Experts from various Georgian NGOs and the Public Defender’s Office are presenting the course, which also focuses on combating torture and ill-treatment.
