Georgia Rotates Troops in Iraq

558 servicemen from the 21st Battalion of the Kutaisi Second Brigade left for Iraq on September 10 to become a part of the coalition forces stationed there.

The Georgian servicemen will rotate the 13th Infantry Battalion of the Georgian Defense Ministry and stay in Iraq for next six months.

Currently there are more than 850 Georgian troops stationed in Iraq. Hence, Georgia is one of the most significant contributors to the coalition forces in terms of a country’s per capita troop deployment.
