Saakashvili Comments on Cabinet Reshuffle in Ukraine

President Mikheil Saakashvili said on September 8 that developments in Ukraine are of crucial importance for Georgia, as ?a strong Ukraine means strength for us as well.?

Speaking with reporters in Batumi, Adjara Autonomous Republic, Saakashvili commented on a decision by Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko to sack the government led by Yulia Timoshenko on September 8. Yushchenko accused the outgoing cabinet of lacking team spirit.

?[Victor] Yushchenko always knows how to behave in a crucial moment… I believe in him completely,? Saakashvili told reporters on September 8.

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli also commented on the issue on September 8 by saying that he is sure Ukraine will ?soon overcome this temporary political crisis.?
