Government Expects GEL 26 mln Budgetary Surplus
Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli announced on August 24 that the government will request the Parliament to approve amendments to the 2005 state budget that envisage the increase of budgetary expenditures by GEL 26 million (USD 14.4 million), the amount that budget revenues have exceeded their planned parameters this year.
?Budgetary indicators show the development of the economy,? Nogaideli said at a government?s session on August 24.
Finance Minister Lexo Alexishvili said that the increase of budgetary expenditures was made possible after receiving additional revenues, ?mainly from the customs service.?
