Georgia Asks Czech Republic to Help in Anti-Aircraft Defense
Visiting Georgian State Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Issues Giorgi Baramidze discussed with Czech Deputy Defense Minister Martin Belcik on August 23 Georgia?s integration into NATO, as well as possible assistance from the Czech Republic in the modernization of Georgia anti-air craft defense system, the Prague Daily Monitor reported.
Baramidze is on a tour of several Central European states. He has already visited Hungary and will then travel on to Poland.
According to the Prague Daily Monitor, Belcik said that cooperation with Georgia is very important as the state represents ?a stabilizing factor? in the region.
The Czech Republic has donated ammunition to the Georgian Armed Forces in recent years.
