Removal of Military Hardware from Batumi Base Begins

The loading of armored vehicles from the Batumi military base onto two Russian amphibious assault ships in the Adjara Autonomous Republic began August 12.

A total of 40 armored vehicles, including 20 tanks, as well as 3 Shilka self propelled anti-aircraft guns and 12 Krug anti-aircraft missile systems are to be withdrawn from the Batumi base at this stage of the Russian military bases’ pullout process.
