S.Ossetia Urges Russian Envoy to Help Release of Gori Blast Suspect

Foreign Minister of breakaway South Ossetia Murat Jioyev has requested Russian Ambassador to Georgia Vladimer Chkhikvishvili to assist in the release of two Ossetians who were arrested in July by Georgian police for allegedly exploding a car bomb in Gori in February that killed three policemen, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported on August 10.


According to this report two suspects ? Giorgi Zasiev and Josef Kochiev, ethnic Ossetians, are the Russian citizens and the Georgian side has ?fabricated? the case against them.


Georgian police also arrested third suspect, Giorgi Valiev, in connection with Gori explosion. He is reportedly ethnic Georgian ? Valishvili, but changed his name after moving to breakaway South Ossetia.
