Georgian PM Denies Plans to Use Force in S.Ossetia as Absurd
On August 4 Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli dismissed as ?absurd? statements made by some Russian parliamentarians and breakaway South Ossetian officials that Tbilisi is preparing to use force in the resolution of the South Ossetian conflict.
?As far as I know, Eduard Kokoity [President of breakaway South Ossetia] said in Vladikavkaz [the capital of Russia?s North Ossetia] that the Georgian side plans aggression by September 15; Russian parliamentarian [Andrey] Kokoshin has also made similar statements. But these statements are absurd. We have prepared a peace plan to solve this conflict and it will be better if they [the authorities of breakaway region] provide their response to these proposals, rather than making such absurd statements,? Noghaideli told reporters while visiting the eastern Georgian region of Kakheti on August 4.
