Georgian-Abkhaz Talks Start in Tbilisi

UN-mediated Georgian-Abkhaz talks regarding security guarantees in the conflict zone got underway in Tbilisi on August 4 .

Foreign Minister of breakaway Abkhazia Sergey Shamba and Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava participated in the negotiations, which are held in the frames of so-called Geneva process.

The UN Secretary General?s Special Representative in Georgia Heidi Tagliavini and ambassadors representing UN Secretary General?s Group of Friends for Georgia ? France, Germany, the Russian Federation, United Kingdom and the United States also participate in talks.
