Tbilisi Offers Tskhinvali, Moscow to Probe into Gori Blast
In a letter sent to the authorities of breakaway South Ossetia, Russia and Russia?s North Ossetian Republic on July 27, Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava offered to dispatch a group of experts who will probe into the investigation of the Gori car bomb explosion, which killed three policemen in February.
?We are offering you to send a group of your experts in order to get information about those documented evidence which are available for the Georgian law enforcers,? the letter reads.
The Georgian law enforcers have arrested three persons, who are suspected of carrying out terrorist act in Gori. The Georgian investigators claim that arrested men, who are Ossetians, were trained by the operatives of the Russian military intelligence in masterminding sabotages. Both the Russian and South Ossetian sides dismissed allegations as a provocation.
Breakaway South Ossetia, Russia and Russia?s North Ossetian Republic make up a quadripartite Joint Control Commission together with the Georgian side, which oversees ceasefire in the South Ossetian conflict zone.
