Reports: Bush Grenade Suspect Arrested
A person suspected of tossing a grenade during the U.S. President’s visit to Tbilisi in May was arrested late on July 20.
This information is based on footage which the Georgian television stations were broadcasting live from the place near the site where the police carried out the operation to capture the suspect. TV cameras captured policy carrying a wounded person on a stretcher. Officials have made no comment yet.
Reportedly, Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili will make an official statement at a news conference soon.
One security official died when the police tried to arrest the suspect. The suspect was also wounded, but was still able to evade the police for a short time. The suspect was then captured after a police chase.
