Kokoity Calls for Talks Between S.Ossetian, Georgian Interior Ministers

President of breakaway South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity said at a news conference in Moscow on June 27 said that the South Ossetian and Georgian sides should cooperate in fighting against the crime and called for holding talks between the Interior Ministers of Georgia and unrecognized republic, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.

He said that the Georgian side was ?unprepared? during the recent talks held in Moscow on June 22 in frames of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC).

?Although Deputy Interior Minister of Georgia [Amiran Meskheli] represented the Georgian side, he was not even aware about the text of the protocol signed by the sides,? Kokoity said.

The sides agreed during the Moscow talks to jointly investigate those recent incidents ? an armed clash in the village of Tamarasheni and the disappearance of four Georgians – which triggered an aggravation in the situation in the conflict zone.

The South Ossetian leader also said that the Georgian side has recently ?increased military rhetoric.? ?We can see anything constructive steps and concrete proposals from the Georgian side,? Kokoity added.

He reiterated that the South Ossetian side will not participate in an international conference, organized by the Georgian government to discuss Tbilisi?s peace plan over the resolution of the South Ossetian conflict, scheduled for July 9-10.
