Peacekeepers Set up Additional Checkpoint in South Ossetia

Chief of the Joint Peacekeeping Troops stationed in the South Ossetian conflict zone Marat Kulakhmetov sent a letter to the co-chairmen of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), in which he informed them about opening of an additional checkpoint near a village of Eredvi in the conflict zone.

Marat Kulakhmetov explained this decision by the current situation in the South Ossetian conflict zone, which has aggravated after an armed clash between the South Ossetian militias and Georgian policemen on May 29 and disappearance of four Georgians in the conflict zone on June 6.
