Opposition to Cooperate in MP By-Elections
The opposition New Rights, Republican and Conservative parties are holding active consultation to cooperate in the MP by-elections in Georgia?s five single-mandate constituencies, which are expected to be held this year, leader of the Republican Party MP Davit Berdzenishvili said on June 16.
Conservative Party leader MP Koba Davitashvili proposed to hold primaries within these opposition parties and nominate in each of the constituencies those candidates, which will win these primaries.
The date for the MP by-elections in Kobuleti, Batumi and Shuakhevi individual constituencies in Adjara Autonomous Republic, as well as in the Tkibuli constituency in western Georgia and Isani district of capital Tbilisi, should be set by the newly set up Central Election Commission.
