Opposition Activist Cites Intimidation Behind Car Explosion

A car belonging to Kakha Beradze, who is the chief of the opposition Conservative Party?s regional office in western Georgian town of Zestaponi, exploded late on June 16 causing no injures.


The Conservative Party claims that this explosion aimed at intimidation of the opposition activist, who has been accusing local administration of corruption. Officials denied these accusations.


Recently, the Conservative Party?s office in Zestaponi was robbed by unknown men.
