Georgia Boosts Border Security with Russia
Georgia has increased the number of its border guard units at the border with the Russian Federation in an attempt to prevent illegal cross-border movement during the summer period, the Georgian Border Guard Department reported on June 16.
Border security has mainly been boodted on the Chechen, Daghestani and Ingush sections of the Russo-Georgian border and is the part of an operation under the codename Shelter-2005, which will last until this autumn.
