Russia Transfers Tank Repair Plant to Georgia

Officials from the Georgian and Russian Defense Ministries signed a protocol late on June 15 marking a finalization of the handover process of the Tbilisi-based Russian Armor/Tank Repair Plant to the Georgian side.

June 15 was the deadline for this hand-over, set by a joint declaration signed by the Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministers in Moscow on May 30. The joint declaration outlines the withdrawal process of the Russian military bases from Georgia.
