Russian Envoy Joins Talks over Military Bases
Russian Foreign Ministry?s Special Envoy Igor Savolsky, who is also chief negotiator over the pullout of the military bases from Georgia, arrived in Tbilisi on June 10 to hold talks with the Georgian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Merab Antadze.
?The Russian side will defray the expenses over the pullout, however since the pullout is a very difficult process, which will last for 3,5 years, we may apply to the international community to attract additional funding within the frames of OSCE, as agreed before,? Savolsky told reporters upon his arrival in Tbilisi.
The Russian-Georgian talks at the level of state delegations will be held in Tbilisi on June 10. Prior to these talks Georgian and Russian experts discussed on June 8-9 technical details of implementation of the joint declaration signed by the two Foreign Ministers in Moscow.
