Moscow Agrees to Hold Talks over Bases in Tbilisi
Russian Foreign Ministry?s Spokesperson Alexander Yakovenko said in an information note issued on May 18 that Moscow is ready to hold the next round of talks over the pullout of military bases from Georgia on May 23 in Tbilisi.
?Moscow?s recent proposal, which envisages the closure of Russia?s military bases in Batumi and Akhalkalaki in 2008, will be discussed during the talks, ? Alexander Yakovenko said, reiterating that no agreement has been reached saying that the withdrawal will be over before the beginning of 2008.
