Lavrov Says No Talks Planned with Zourabichvili in Warsaw

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Georgian side proposed to hold negotiations over the issue of military bases between the Foreign Ministers of two countries in Warsaw on the margins of the Council of Europe summit on May 16-17, ?but no special meeting of this kind will take place,? RIA Novosti news agency reported on May 15.

?The Russia?s position over resolving the problem of withdrawal of Russian bases is known. Experts from [Georgian and Russian] delegations are discussing these issues,? Lavrov told reporters in Vienna.

However, the Russian Foreign Minister did not rule out that he might hold brief talks with Georgian counterpart, but reiterated that if the meeting takes place it will not be negotiations.
