Sokhumi Against Opening of UN Human Rights Office in Gali

Foreign Minister of breakaway Abkhazia Sergey Shamba said that the Abkhaz side is against the opening of a UN human rights office in the predominately Georgian-populated district of Gali, in the unrecognized republic of Abkhaz, the news agency Apsnipress reported on May 12.

He said that a UN human rights office already operates in the Abkhaz capital Sokhumi and that the Abkhaz side has no problems with its activites.
