Norway Grants USD 10 mln to UNDP South Caucasus Projects

Norway will contribute USD 10 million in the period 2005-2007 for UNDP development projects in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, according to the memorandum signed by Jan Petersen, the Foreign Minister of Norway and Z?phirin Diabr?, the acting head of UNDP on May 10 in New York, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry reported. 


The projects will be in the fields of good governance and energy and environment. The agreement provides for close co-operation between Norway and UNDP, whereby the Norwegian authorities will be directly involved in the selection and implementation of the projects.
