Saakashvili, Aliyev Discuss Cooperation, Energy Projects

President Saakashvili held bilateral talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the GUAM leaders? summit in Chisinau on April 22.

The two Presidents discussed bilateral and regional cooperation, as well as implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum gas pipeline projects, the Azerbaijani State Information Agency reported.

Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Konstantine Kavtaradze told the Associated Press on April 22 that the BTC oil pipeline will start operation in June, 2005 and denied reports redarding delays in construction.
