Georgia, UN Sign Assistance Agreement
Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli and UN Resident Coordinator Lance Clark signed on April 22 the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for Georgia covering the period 2006-2010.
The UN agencies, through this UNDAF and based on national priorities, have identified five priority areas for their work over those five years, including poverty and economic growth, governance, basic social services, volatility and instability, environment.
The amount of the future assistance within the UNDAF is unknown so far. According to Lance Clark, special groups will be set up to work out specific program budgets.
