Saakashvili: GUAM Should Move Towards Europe
President Saakashvili said on April 22 upon his arrival in Chisinau, capital of Moldova, in order to participate in the summit of GUAM leaders (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova), that the summit will be fruitful, news agency RIA Novosti reports on April 22.
?All the countries meeting in Chisinau are new European states … We should join our hands and walk towards Europe,? Saakashvili said.
President Saakashvili also said that ?Georgia and Moldova have similar territorial problems and we should settle them in a civilized manner.?
The Presidents of Lithuania, Romania and Poland, as well as U.S. Department of State senior negotiator for Eurasian conflicts and Caspian energy issues Steven Mann, are also expected to take part in the summit as observers.
